Township issues comments on Nestle Waters

CENTRE WELLINGTON – In response to the Environmental Bill of Rights (EBR) Posting No. 012-4935, the Township of Centre Wellington has submitted comments on Nestle Waters Canada temporary Permit To Take Water (Short Term Pumping Test).

The consultation process, which was open from October 1 to November 15, 2015 allowed for public consultation regarding the proposed undertaking. The Township has consulted with the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) as part of their consultation process. This included a meeting with the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change and MPP Ted Arnott on September 29.

The Township appreciates the opportunity to comment on the proposed pumping test and monitoring program for the Middlebrook Well. The Township will continue to ensure that any decisions are grounded in a thorough science-based approach to ensure the long-term protection of the Township’s water supply to meet our future growth requirements.
